Job Description
We're looking for an experienced, efficient, and detail-oriented Medicaid Biller to join our team! You'll be a part of the entire patient journey from checking eligibility, to gathering prescriptions, to researching denied claims.
Main Responsibilities include:
- Patient demographic data entry
- Obtaining referrals and pre-authorizations
- Checking eligibility and benefits verification
- Reviewing patient bills for accuracy and completeness
- Preparing, reviewing, and transmitting claims using billing software
- Following up on unpaid claims in a timely manner
- Checking payments for accuracy and compliance
- Calling insurance companies regarding discrepancies in payments Researching and appealing denied claims
- Answering patient or insurance telephone inquiries
Desired Qualifications and Qualities:
- Knowledge of insurance guidelines, specifically Arkansas Medicaid
- Competent use of computer systems and software
- Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 Coding
- Effective communication abilities for phone contacts with insurance payers to resolve issues
- Customer service skills for interacting with patients regarding medical claims and payments, including communicating with patients and family members of diverse ages and backgrounds
- Problem-solving skills to research and resolve discrepancies, denials, appeals, collections
- Maintaining patient confidentiality as per HIPAA standards
